JCAHO Survey Readiness Handbook is designed to educate hospital staff regarding the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), a private, not-for-profit organization that surveys health care organizations to ensure improvements in quality care and safe practices. The JCAHO requires ongoing performance improvement and has made recent attempts to improve its methods of surveying hospitals.
